Case Study - Organisational Champions Training
In May 2006, JIVE ran a pilot scheme of new gender awareness training called Organisational Champion Training.
This one-day training was held at the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford and delegates represented organisations including Leeds College of Technology, TUC, Bradford College and Womenbuild West Yorkshire. The training is to support and enable participants to champion diversity within their organisation, specifically to encourage the recruitment and retention of women into Science, Engineering, Construction and Technology.
The training day was a great success and everyone was able to network and learn with like-minded people.
Some comments from the day included:-
"Very useful day, bringing all aspects and issues around mainstreaming gender diversity. It has been a great day with like minded people about bringing on change. Excellent networking."
" All elements have been really useful and particularly since the interactivity of the training has meant listening to the views of others and learning about their experiences."
"The DVD was very inspirational. Style of trainers was excellent. Well thought out programme."
"I would recommend the programme to all colleagues working with a STEM/Careers education role as all elements were valuable."
