Work on research (both commissioned and in-house) has been ongoing throughout the project. Research includes:

- Presence and Representation of women scientists, engineers and technologists in the UK media (Professor Jenny Kitzinger, Cardiff University)
- Invisible Witnesses? Investigating presence, representation and media influence of female and male scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians on UK television (Liz Whitelegg, Open University)
- Women in Science, Engineering, and Technology: UK Initiatives from the 1970s to the 2000s (Dr Alison Phipps, Sussex University)

- Gender and attitudes to enterprise: Survey of the UK doctorate students in Science, Engineering and Technology; UKRC Research Team
- Transnational Research projects and include a Transnational Research web page live on UKRC website with link to JIVE website
